Performances Sylphides and Dublove by Cecilia Bengolea and François Chaignaud
At Dia Art Fondation, Beacon in may 2017
“Movements are Facts. Mainly, my work is about the body inventing out its own sources, its
own training. For what purpose? To completely erase violence from the memory of the body,
my own body, but also the social body we constitute collectively. The movements I create have
a common denominator : no attack and no hierarchy among the movements. This is why dance
is political “. Cecilia Bengolea
In 2017, Dia Art Foundation commissioned artists Cecilia Bengolea and François Chaignaud
to develop a multipart program staged in the lower level of the museum by Dan Flavin’s neon
green fence.
